Snowmen and Santa and Devils...Oh My!

As you can see from the WIPs photos, I've been working my fingers to the bone! I've got LOTS of new figures made, all dryed and gesso'd and ready for painting. It's almost a little intimidating to have this many yet-to-be-finished creations staring at you in the face (although, they don't have their eyeballs painted in yet, so I guess they really don't do much staring). The painting process is really one of my favorite steps - so I really look forward to the work ahead. Once they are base coated with thin layers of acrylics, they are stained, then details are added in oil paints. It's a long process, but the end result is well worth the efforts.

Wow. I feel overwhelmed and excited at the same time looking at all those pieces. Amazing..clearly you have been very busy. I also had no idea the process you use. Explains in part the wonderful patina/look you are able to create. Very Neat.

I remember coming across your website a while back and I am happy to find you again. Your style is great, reminds me of wallace and grommit. I also sculpt and do the staining. I wonder how you do yours vs how I do mine. I would love to chat with you about it! I will stop by often and look forward to seeing all of your guys finished. Phew...that is a TON of work! Bravo! :o) Amy

Thanks for the comments everyone! I've just started the painting process - got a LONG ways to go till I get these all complete, but I'll post some as I get them finished.

Hey David,
I just saw your comments in my blog. Thank you so much for the kind words...always good (great) to hear. To answer your question, you can see some more of my work on my website and more soon to come. As for my illustrations, I'm actually new to that this year. It just came out of me and I went with it so I haven't illustrated any children's books, but wouldn't that be cool?!?!

Be back soon! :o) Glad to have found you!

Amy

Btw, my kids were just in hysterics when I showed them your chicken from your website that pops up and down! If only I caught that on video...I was almost in tears!

Didn't you mention Diamond Clay?! I can't find it, anywhere. I wanted to try it, since you said it gets hard, can't break it. Looked on the web, nothing. OK, give me a hint....:-) PJ
