Seems Spring time has come early to the Chicken Lips farm. These little chicks were born 2 weeks ago to my favorite hen, "Camilla." Guess no one told her it's a little early in the season to be raising chicks (my hens usually don't start sitting on nests until March or April). The furry little bundles of fuzz are so darn cute, that I decided to take inspiration by the horns (er, um...beak?) and make some Paperclay chicks of my own.
Here they are in their unfinished state, still need to put legs on two of them. Congratulations Camilla!

They are going to be adorable! :)
David...I didn't realize you actually raised chickens! When I was little my mother had hens and I loved the baby chicks. Hated the ole' rooster that chased me, he was wicked.
Wonder why Camilla had them early this year.
Enjoy the little ones and what a great way to commemorate them!! Great job as always!!

Wow I remember when my chickens were that little : ( no roosters in my hen house darn it....
I love the little ones you've created!
Awwww, too cute! I have button quail and have thought that it would be fun to sculpt them, also.
I'm hoping the reason she had them early is because SPRING is here! :) So cute - both the real ones, and yours.
Just adorable, David.. I'll pop back in to see them finished. Geez, the follower tool thingie is just great -- I'm happy to be one of your groupies!! lol
And congrats to Camilla! She's not the only one anxious for spring! :) :)
