Things That Go Bump in the Night

Halloween is just around the corner! And that means it's time to gear up for the Fall shows that I will be attending this year (see my web site for the complete schedule).

Now, I fully realize that not all my collectors and fans can make it out to California for the shows. So this year, I've decided to bring the show to YOU! I'm having my first-ever "online show" called "Things That Go Bump in the Night."

This collection of new and original Halloween creations will feature a motley crew of skeletons, witches, pumkins and ghoulies. These exclusive creations will be available on a first-come first-served basis, so mark your calendars for September 7th and be there to get your claws on one of these new spooky pieces when the doors creak open at 6pm (pst) !

Sneak Peak

This Friday is the February update on Spookytime Jingles. It is also a Holiday Hootenanny, which means that many of the participating artists will be offering Easter-themed art as well as the usual Christmas and Halloween. I decided to not only offer Easter, but Halloween as well...both combined in the same piece! Here's a sneak peak at "Howard the Halloween Bunny."

In addition to Howard, I will be offering several Springtime-themed pieces. Be sure to drop by the 13th at midnight (EST).

Bring on the Owls!

I've long since loved Owls  - they are such Halloween icons. But, I had always been a little intimidated about making one...birds are just not my thing. I decided that I would throw caution to the wind and give one a try - heck, if it didn't turn out right, I could always turn it into something else (that's the magic of clay!).

I'm happy to report that he did turn out as I had hoped! I'm also happy to report that he has already found a new home with my friend and collector, Robert of Halloween Fanatic

Now, I'm off to make MORE owls!

Zippo the Zombie Clown

You might remember an earlier post of Zippo as a WIP. He's long since been completed and waiting for just the right time to be unleashed on an unsuspecting public! The time is now! Zippo makes his debut on Spookytimes Jingles tonight at Midnight. Stop by and get a good look at him...if you dare!

I will also be debuting another Halloween piece and two for Christmas. But, you'll have to wait until tonight to see them. I know, I'm a real stinker!!!

New Chicken Lips on ETSY

I've just added two new items to my ETSY shop... a 'Lil Devil and a Pumpkin Candy Container! This little devil is a reoccuring character of mine. I love making this fellow! And it seems like every one I make has got a personality of their own. But one thing in common...they all look like they're up to no good! He stands about 13" on a wooden base.

The Pumpkin Candy Container is a new design. Paperclay atop a paper-composite box. At about 6" high, this piece makes a fun way to stash a small amount of wrapped candy.

Both of these are available at my ETSY shop. Thanks for stopping by! And, have a wonderful (long) Memorial weekend!

Zippo The Zombie Clown WIP

Now that I'm done with my Spring creations (the last will debut on Spookytime Jingles this Friday), it's time to get a jump start on Halloween! Actually, as far as I'm concerned, it's NEVER too early to start on Halloween! This new fellow I worked on yesterday is gonna be named Zippo the Zombie Clown. I actually made a Zippo last October for an art show and sold the little guy in the first 5 minutes of the show! I've been anxious to make another - I may make a few of them in different circus situations. Seems like Halloween and the circus just go together in a creepy kind of way - guess because Clowns are so darn scary, they just naturally lend themselves to Halloween. Stay tuned for more Zippo in the near future!
